Deployment Steps
Pre-Deployment Planning
Confirm fiber type (OM4/OM5/OS2), polarity method, and connector gender based on transceiver and patch panel requirements. Verify pathway fill ratios and bend-radius limitations.
Pathway Preparation
Install cable trays, fiber raceways, or underfloor pathways. Maintain minimum bend radius (typically 10× cable diameter under tension, 15× under no load).
Cable Installation
Pull pre-terminated MTP/MPO trunks using proper pulling grips and swivel eyes. Avoid exceeding maximum tensile load. Protect connector ends with dust caps at all times.
Connector Mating
Clean both MTP/MPO end faces using approved cleaning tools (dry or wet methods). Inspect with a fiber microscope before mating. Align keys correctly according to the chosen polarity method.
Testing & Documentation
Perform end-to-end insertion loss and polarity verification. Record results and update as-built documentation for future moves, adds, and changes (MACs).
Final Dressing
